CAREER DAY

March 6, 2019

WE NEED LOTS OF VOLUNTEERS FOR THIS!

On March 6, 2019, Towers Elementary will be celebrating the diverse jobs we have in our community by having our annual Career Day.  In the past, Career Day was a great success and the students loved it.  In order to continue to make this day a success, we need your help.  We are looking for individuals who are willing to come and speak to our students about their job and responsibilities in the work force.  Each speaker will be assigned to a classroom for about 20 minutes to share about his or her career.  (Please be advised you may not be assigned to your child’s classroom.)  Each speaker will then rotate to one or two other classrooms.  Our Career Day will begin in the morning with check-in from 8:40 – 8:50 and end at 10:50.

PARENTING RESOURCES

Parents, please visit TUSD Families Connected to learn about Torrance Unified School District’s commitment to the social-emotional wellness of our students, as well as to access free parenting education events, including the Families Connected Speaker Series, the Families Connected Parent Chat and walking group, and to access online parenting resources galleries. In support of our recent IGen event with Jean Twenge, we recommend the parents access the helping youth manage technology with intention Families Connected resource page.

Parents if you need to find trusted resources for mental health or substance use feel free to visit TUSD's partner CARE SOLACE where you can access a vetted search engine that can directly match you with resources that take your insurance and have space availability.
