COUNTDOWN TO KINDERGARTEN ENROLLMENT

Do you have children who will be starting Kindergarten or TK next fall?  Do  your neighbors have children who will be eligible for Kindergarten or TK next fall?

TUSD is having 3 informative sessions in December on the procedures for enrolling in Kindergarten.  Click on the link above for more information.

The TUSD Enrollment Center has specific dates for each school area within the district to enroll. You must enroll on the dates for your home school.

The Towers dates for Kindergarten enrollment are January 29 - February 2.  To enroll in Kindergarten, the student must have a birthdate on or before Sept. 1, 2013.

Transitional Kindergarten enrollment dates are April 2-20.  TK is for students with birthdates between Sept. 2, 2013 and Dec. 2, 2013.

PERMIT INFORMATION WORKSHOPS

A permit is required for a student residing outside the TUSD boundaries to attend a TUSD school.  Two workshops are being held in February to explain the process.

OPEN ENROLLMENT

January 8 – February 28

Open Enrollment is for Torrance residents who want their child to attend a different Torrance school than their home school.  OE Applications will be available beginning January 8, 2018.

Per Ed Code 35160.5b, Torrance Unified School District established a policy allowing Parents/Guardians who live within the Torrance Unified School District boundaries to apply to have their children attend a school other than their home school.   Once a year, during a specific period of time, applications are accepted for the following school year. Once the procedure is complete, the OE school becomes the permanent home school for that student.

OE is specific to the student, not to the family.
