OPEN ENROLLMENT

January 8 – February 28

Open Enrollment is for Torrance residents who want their child to attend a different Torrance school than their home school. OE Applications will be available until February 28, 2018.

Per Ed Code 35160.5b, Torrance Unified School District established a policy allowing Parents/Guardians who live within the Torrance Unified School District boundaries to apply to have their children attend a school other than their home school.   Once a year, during a specific period of time, applications are accepted for the following school year. Once the procedure is complete, the OE school becomes the permanent home school for that student.

OE is specific to the student, not to the family.

PERMIT INFORMATION WORKSHOPS

A permit is required for a student residing outside the TUSD boundaries to attend a TUSD school.  Two workshops are being held in February to explain the process.

STREET CONSTRUCTION

ANZA

On January 8, 2018, the City of Torrance will begin a street rehabilitation project on Anza Ave from 190th to Del Amo, which may have traffic impacts to your schools.  The project is scheduled to last through April.  Attached is a notification flyer with additional information.

190TH STREET

SoCalGas will be doing work on 190th St. for the next several months.  Primarily they will be west of Beryl Street, however there may be lane closures, including left turn closures, causing traffic issues that affect your drop off and pick up at Towers.
