 HARVEST FESTIVAL!

Saturday, October 15, 12 noon to 5 pm.

Dear Towers families!

This year's Harvest Festival is approaching quickly, and Maribel Millican, who is chairing this amazing event, is in need of our help. If you could please consider to pitch in some time and help sell tickets at drop-off and/or pick-up in front of school a few times, it would be truly appreciated.

Attached is a Signup.com link where you can see the time slots we would like to fill. Since we will handle money, we need 2 people manning the table. If you know of anyone who would like to help, please feel free to forward this link to them.

 GATE Testing for Third Grade

Coming Soon!

Universal third grade GATE testing will take place at each school site between October and December. A parent notification with testing details and schedule will be sent home with students on September 19th.  Please check this schedule for each school site’s specified test date(s). An electronic copy of the parent notification will also be available on our school website. No form or application for participation in third grade GATE testing is necessary.

If you choose to withdraw your student from GATE testing, you will need to complete and sign a Withdraw from GATE Testing Form (on the reverse side of the parent notification) and return it to your student’s teacher by October 3rd.

More information regarding GATE testing for grades 4 and 5 will be coming at a later date.

LUNCH CHANGES FOR THE NEW SCHOOL YEAR

TUSD has changed their online lunch system.   We are no longer using My School Bucks.  Our new system is Titan.   You can use the Titan system to put money on your student's account as well as to apply for free or reduced meals.

If you have questions or would like to get more information about the TUSD food services, please click here.

All money in your student's account should have been transferred by now.   If this has not happened, please contact the TUSD Food Services department.   The Towers office has no information about individual student lunch accounts.

EMERGENCY CONTACT INFORMATION UPDATE NEEDED

Each student's contact information will need to be verified by a parent or guardian before school begins.   You can do this online via our Parent Connect portal.   You will need your PIN and password.

If you do not remember your PIN and password, please call the Towers office on or after August 22, 2016.    Please do keep this information handy, as you will be using it throughout your time as a TUSD parent.

Families are required to report to the school office, in writing, any change of address within third (30) calendar days of moving.   Proof of this change, generally two utility bills, is also required.

MEDICATION AT SCHOOL

The attached PDF has instructions that must be followed for any medication that a student will need to have at school.   This applies for prescription as well as over the counter medication.

Older students can have a Consent To Carry for an inhaler as well.   This is the only type of medication that a student can take with them.  Cough drops, eye drops, tylenol and all other over the counter medications are considered a medication.

Forms are available in the Towers Health Office.
