Skechers Pier-to-Pier Friendship Walk

October 29th, 2017 Sign-up now!

A great way to exercise with friends and raise money for Towers Elementary!

More Details:

  • Cost is $30 per walker and each registered walker receives a t-shirt and swag bag.

  • When registering, search for "Team Towers" with Mrs. Boushell as our Team Captain.

  • $30 per registered walker will be donated back to your classroom. Make sure to choose TEF as the only recipient for your donation proceeds, and they will make sure we receive 100% of that.

  • The walk is 3 1/2 miles from MB pier to HB pier and back.

  • You can “walk in spirit” and still benefit your child’s classroom.

  • All registered walkers, actual and virtual, can pick up their Skechers Walk t-shirt and swag bag at the Del Amo Skecher’s store the Friday and Saturday before the walk.

  • The Skechers Friendship Walk is an easy way to show our support for Towers, TEF and our children’s education. Towers will get 100% of the $30 registration proceeds and if we get 100 people to sign up, we will get an additional $1,000 bonus! (That’s $3,500 to Towers for 100 walkers!) You can register just your child or your whole family; relatives; everyone is welcome and appreciated.

  • “Donations” will not be credited to our school, so please register as a “walker”.

  • Questions, please email Mrs. Boushell at boushell.laura@tusd.org

GATE TESTING FOR 3rd GRADERS

GATE testing for 3rd graders will take place at Towers on Oct. 26.   Letters were recently mailed home to parents of all 3rd graders.

If you do NOT want your child tested for GATE, please sign and return the Withdraw from GATE testing form on the back of the letter by October 2.    All students will be tested except those with the form withdrawing permission, so if you do want your child tested, you don't need to do anything.

GATE testing for 4th and 5th graders will be announced later in the school year.

POWER SCHOOL

Parent Connect has been disabled.   Our new Information System, which will include emergency contacts for all of our students, is called PowerSchool.   You will be getting information similar to the attached pdf, filled in with information specific to your student and your family.  If you have more than one student attending a TUSD school, you will get a letter with access information for each student.

Once you get this information, please go to

http://torrance.powerschool.com

and select “Create Account”.   Follow the directions on the letter and on the website to create your account and link your student(s).  Then go to the “Returning Student Registration” link on the website to update your emergency contact information.

It is very important that you do this as soon as possible, so that we at Towers have the most accurate and up-to-date contact information and emergency pickup information.

EMERGENCY CONTACT INFORMATION UPDATE NEEDED

Each student's contact information will need to be verified by a parent or guardian before school begins.   You can do this online via our Parent Connect portal.   You will need your PIN and password.

If you do not remember your PIN and password, please call the Towers office.    Please do keep this information handy, as you will be using it throughout your time as a TUSD parent.

If you find you are unable to edit, click on "PRE-REGISTRATION" and you will then be able to edit.
