Towers After-School Computer Lab is back!
The computer lab will be open after school, starting Monday 11/5/18, for students to do ST Math, Achieve3000, and teacher-assigned work, with a parent supervising to ensure that students only use websites that have been pre-approved by teachers.  Students will need a permission slip on file in order to use the computer lab after school.  Permission slips are available to download under the After School tab.

After school:
                Mondays: 3:00-3:45pm
                Wednesdays: 2:15-3:00pm
                Thursdays: 3:00-3:45pm  (starting 11/15/18)
Fridays: 3:00-3:45pm (select Fridays only; check Towers website for calendar)

Check the “After School” section of the Towers website for a calendar showing which days the computer lab will be open.
We can open up additional days if more volunteers are willing to help!  If you are interested, please contact Shermay Wong at shermaywong@verizon.net.

BOOK EXCHANGE

The Children’s Book Exchange is
Coming Soon!
Do your children have books they no longer read?
Have they moved on to other topics or a more challenging reading level?
What do you do with all those unwanted books?
Donate your books to the Book Exchange!
In early December, Towers will be holding a Children’s Book Exchange.
This will be your chance to pass on books your family no longer wants to read.
In return, your child will have an opportunity to choose books, from those
donated by other Towers students, to take home and keep! Start going through your
bookshelves...
Book collections will start Nov. 28th.
(Please do not bring any books to school before Nov. 28th.)

School News:

GATE Testing for 4th and 5th Grade

Permission to Test Forms are now being accepted for 4th and 5th grade students interested in participating in GATE testing.  GATE tests will be administered during the month of January, but permission forms must be submitted by November 13th in order for your student to participate.

We will be offering GATE testing to 4th and 5th grade students who:

    1) Have never been GATE tested in TUSD

    2) Have only taken the GATE test in TUSD once before

Students who have already been administered GATE testing through TUSD twice are not eligible for testing. If your child qualifies for 4-5th grade GATE testing and you would like your student to participate, please complete and return your signed permission slip to your student’s teacher by November 13, 2018.  Permission slips will be sent home with all 4-5th grade students, however students who are already identified GATE in TUSD do not need to retest.

Unlike the process for universal 3rd grade GATE testing, 4-5th grade GATE testing requires parents to submit a signed permission slip by the deadline.

Please note that TUSD GATE testing for identification purposes occurs only in grades 3-5.

The above is also available in Japanese, Spanish, and Korean.

The 4th & 5th grade GATE permission form is also available in Japanese, Spanish, and Korean.
